Isa Wang is a Massachusetts-based artist and entrepreneur. His explorative fine art practice focuses on intersecting identities and the possibility for transformation. Via a mix of mediums and genres, autobiographical artifacts are juxtaposed against broad symbolism. Cultural and gendered boundaries are traversed with performative and interactive elements.
Through his business Small Victories, Isa merges art and commerce to reimagine retail as a vehicle for social change. As an animal lover and lifelong equestrian, Isa writes about his experiences with horsemanship in his blog Extra Equestrial.
Wang holds a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts / Tufts in Boston and a MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he was a recipient of the SVA Alumni Scholarship Award, the Art Practice Thesis Project Grant, and the Art Practice Thesis Award.
